In this passage, the angel Gabriel came to Daniel with a message so important that he interrupted Daniel's prayer. Below is a summary of the highlights of the message.

v24 In this verse we find the doctrine of the 70 weeks and Daniel is given 6 reasons for it (see chart in the section "Before we start.")

 

Note: the word "Weeks" here is the Hebrew word "Shabua" meaning a period of seven (days, years), [heptad in Greek],

v25 A timetable is given as to when these things will begin

​

v26 Prophecy of Christ's death and the destruction of the city and temple. 

​

v27 Prophecy of the 7-year covenant. He (antichrist) shall break it in the middle of the week (Abomination of Desolation).
